HEAD COACH & FOUNDER

Coach Lee is the head coach & founder of Penta Olympic Fencing Club, Olympian (1992 Barcelona Olympic) and a former coach of the Korean National Modern Pentathlon Team (2004 Athens Olympic). Coach Young was awarded the Order of Sports Merit (Presidential Medal) by the Korean president, Lee Myung-Bak in 2009 for distinguished service in sports, in teaching physical education, and promotion and development of physical education and sports. As an expert in épée fencing, Coach Young was named the Coach of the Year in 2002 and 2004 by the Korean Olympic Committee. As a fourteen year veteran of the South Korean National Team, he has won 31 gold, 13 silver and 15 bronze medals in numerous international competitions including the gold medal in individual and team competition at the Modern Pentathlon World Games in Tokyo, Japan in 1995. He is certified as an Olympic judge by the Union International De Pentathlon Moderne. His training includes Bachelor and Master degrees in sports education from the Korean National Sports University. He was trained by the coach of the Hungarian National Fencing Team in Hungary in 1990.
